Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
What Antara Is
Antara is a privacy-first identity and communication layer. It lets you interact with apps without sharing your email or phone number. By using Antara, you agree to these terms.
Your Account
- One Antara account per person
- You authenticate via magic link (no passwords)
- You are responsible for access to the email used to sign up
- You must not create multiple accounts to circumvent app blocks
Identity & Slugs
When you approve an app, Antara creates a unique slug — a random identifier visible only to that app. You may rotate your slug at any time. Rotated slugs expire after a 30-day grace period. You may also soft-delete a slug from your dashboard; it remains recoverable for 30 days, with longer retention on our systems for abuse prevention and audit where required by law.
Antara may display a logical address of the form <slug>@useantara.com so integrations and invites can name your identity consistently. Antara is not an email provider — there is no hosted mailbox at that address, and we do not accept inbound email for slug delivery. Messages reach your in-product inbox only through authenticated APIs (including optional short-lived capability tokens you or apps issue).
Messaging
Apps and invited senders can post messages through Antara’s APIs subject to your permissions, moderation, and rate limits. You control which apps can reach you. You may:
- Read or ignore messages
- Block apps from contacting you
- Report abusive messages
Apps must not use the messaging system for spam, phishing, or unsolicited marketing.
For Developers
If you integrate Antara into your application:
- You must use the OAuth flow (PKCE) as documented
- You must not attempt to reverse-engineer slugs to identify users
- You must not abuse the messaging API
- API keys are confidential — do not expose them in client-side code
- Violation of these terms may result in app suspension
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Antara for illegal purposes
- Attempt to access other users' data
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attack Antara's infrastructure
- Automate account creation
User Responsibility
You are responsible for safeguarding access to your email inbox used for magic links, keeping your devices free of malware, reviewing app permissions, and using slug-based and QR-based flows only with applications you trust. You must not use Antara to harass others, send unlawful content, or evade enforcement actions.
Email delivery
Transactional messages (such as magic links and invitations you trigger) are delivered through an HTTPS email gateway that uses Zoho Mail for SMTP relay (for example via sahaj.tools). You agree that delivery depends on third-party networks and mailbox providers; Antara does not warrant instant arrival, inbox placement, or that messages will never be classified as spam. If you do not receive a message, you may request another where rate limits allow. You must not abuse request endpoints or use them to probe whether arbitrary addresses have Antara accounts.
Capability tokens
If you enable invites or issue capability tokens, anyone who obtains a valid token may be able to perform the actions that token allows until it expires or you revoke it. You are responsible for how you share tokens and for misuse by recipients you invite. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Antara is not liable for losses arising from lost, leaked, or misused capability tokens.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Antara and its operators provide the service "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. In no event shall our aggregate liability arising out of or related to these terms exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100), except where liability cannot be limited by law. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Compliance & Law Enforcement
We may preserve, access, and disclose information when required to comply with applicable law, enforce our policies, detect fraud or abuse, or protect the rights, property, and safety of Antara, our users, or the public. Where legally permitted, we will attempt to notify you of compulsory disclosures.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
